My husband and I have recently decided we are going to really work to get our finances in order over the next three years. For the first time in our married lives we have decided to get a handle on our finances. My husband has always been more of a saver than I, but the last few years we have saved very little and have put way too much on the credit card. My husband has read several financial help and personal finance books, and he has passed them on to me. He is more committed than ever to creating a monthly budget and sticking with it. I am embarrassed to say that for the first several years of our marriage, we did not budget at all but simply spent as we saw fit. There were four of us and we couldn’t be more excited. The lesson went well. During the first run, one of the guys was texting and e-mailing. Can you believe that, texting and e-mailing while we were in Vancouver kayaks? All the action and beauty we were immersed in and he’s acting like a droid.
